Our read
Seedance 2.5 isn't a "scam" in the criminal sense — it's a real company with real software — but the complaint record raises serious questions about its sales practices, billing, and the gap between what's advertised and what's delivered.
The strongest "this feels like a scam" signals tend to come from one of two places: marketing claims that don't match reality, or billing practices that make leaving harder than joining. Below are the 4 flags in those two categories we've documented for Seedance 2.5.

Artlist Sold Year of Unlimited Access, Delivered Only One Week
CineD reported in August 2026 that Artlist bundled Seedance 2.5 access into a $500 annual subscription, but users found the AI video generation feature was pulled or severely restricted within days of purchase. Customers who signed up specifically for the Seedance 2.5 integration were left with a product that didn't match what was advertised at checkout. The gap between the marketing promise and the delivered product is substantial enough to constitute a straightforward bait-and-switch.
"Paid five hundred dollars for a year of unlimited AI video generation. Got about a week before they quietly pulled it. Nobody at support could explain when or whether it was coming back."

Free Credit Tier Disappears After Signup, Paid Upgrade Pushed Immediately
A consistent pattern across Reddit and X/Twitter threads from mid-2026 shows users signing up at seedance2video.io after seeing the 'free credits' promise, only to find the credits exhausted after one or two short clips — nowhere near the 30-second cinematic outputs advertised. Several users reported the free tier effectively functions as a single-use demo, after which the platform gates all generation behind a paid plan starting at roughly $29/month. The credit depletion mechanics are not disclosed clearly on the landing page.
"The 'free credits' got me one five-second clip. The moment it was done, every button on the site pointed to a paywall. That's not a free trial, that's a demo with extra steps."

30-Second Video Limit Achievable Only on Highest Paid Tier, Not as Advertised
The landing page at seedance2video.io prominently advertises videos 'up to 30 seconds' alongside the free credit offer, strongly implying that length is available to new users. In practice, free-tier and entry-level paid users are capped at 5 or 10 seconds per generation, with the 30-second ceiling locked behind the top subscription tier. G2 reviewers from mid-2026 called this out specifically, noting the disconnect between headline marketing copy and actual tier feature charts buried in the pricing page.
"The homepage says 30 seconds like it's a given. You only find out it's the premium plan limit after you've already signed up and tried to render something longer than ten seconds."
Subscriptions Continue Billing After Cancellation Requests Through Help Chat
Multiple Consumer Affairs and SiteJabber complaints from 2025 and early 2026 describe users submitting cancellation requests via Seedance's in-app chat, receiving a confirmation message, and then being charged again the following billing cycle. In at least several documented cases, users were charged for two to three additional months before the billing stopped. The company's apparent policy of only processing cancellations through a specific account dashboard page — not through chat — is not disclosed at the point of cancellation.
"I cancelled through their chat in November. Got a message saying my plan was cancelled. They charged me again in December and January. It took a dispute with my bank to actually stop it."
